CLASS DESCRIPTIONS:

JIVA HEALTH EARLSFIELD
Classes are Jiva Earlsfield are broken down into terms with each term having a particular theme. This September’s theme to be announced soon.

JIVA HEALTH WIMBLEDON
I teach alignment yoga at Wimbledon. This class is still rooted in vinyasa-style yoga – but it is less about intricate sequencing or fast-paced flow (which all have their place) and more about exploring how you move your body and finding a sense of alignment in both the pose and getting into the pose that works for you. There is not one perfect way to be “aligned” in a pose – but there is probably a way that works best for you that meets you where you are right now in your practice.

Each class will either explore a specific part of the body or movement pattern and play with that within a well-rounded yoga practice. For example we might look at the hamstrings and how we can find a sense of alignment when we move them. This means not just stretching the muscle group but exploring how we can strengthen them as well as control our range of movement.

It is a strong class but I offer different options and adaptions to ensure everyone can find a version of the movement or asana that works for them. This class aims to help you move with greater ease in your yoga practice, take your new skills to other yoga classes and ultimately move better in your life outside of the yoga studio.
